Things I Like #8 - DesignLOFT

This issue of Things I Like is bringing you something much different from the usual handmade arty farty stuff. They are not handmade, nor would they be considered "crafty" items, but they are definitely original AND very one of a kind in design and concept, and most certainly very useful! What am I talking about? I'm talking about the acrylic laptop trays/furniture by DesignLOFT. Take a look......
These trays are the brainchild of architect Chai Jun Yea. Currently he has come up with 3 styles - SINE, LINE and LINE 2. SINE trays are more suited for use when sitting on beds/couches or even floors, while the LINE and LINE 2 trays are for living room surfers or for use as laptop docking stations. Not a laptop user? Fret not! These trays are also very good looking as furniture too - they can double up as breakfast or coffee serving trays. COOL!

So are you an avid laptop user? Or a lover of acrylic furniture? (Yes, acrylic's becoming increasingly popular in our daily lives, if you have not noticed). Do you like to use your laptop in bed, in front of the TV, but cannot stand the discomfort of the heated battery scalding your lap? Well, I must admit that I am, and so to me the SINE trays are definitely a plus plus plus in terms of design. Imagine being able to sit comfortably on your couch/bed, with the tray OVER your lap, and you can still tap tap tap away without the discomfort of heat or weight on your lap. And it's got a proper panel for the mouse too, as well as a slot for your books and papers! And if you need to stand up to get yourself a drink, just remove the entire tray, put it safely on your bed/couch with your laptop/papers/books/mouse still there, and walk away! How convenient! (I hope my hubby is reading this, and I hope he is writing it down in his list of "Things To Get For The Wife"!)
