This picture is the first one that caught my eye at Lash Tan's booth at MAAD last week. I had a similar playground below my house once when I was a kid, and it was my "secret" pirate ship. I was surprised that there was still one such playground around. Sure brought back some nice memories.
And that led me to scrutinize more closely the rest of Lash's work. I must say he is a very observant man, able to capture scenes and scenarios that most of us take for granted, or simply ignore, and to use those scenes to tell little stories.
I have not been able to browse through all of the 3000 plus photos in his flickr album, but I like what I've seen in the first 20 pages so far, so I'm leaving you a screen capture of one of the pages to whet your appetite:
